Parks and Green Spaces
Mudchute Park and Farm
One of the largest urban farms in Europe, Mudchute is a hidden gem on the Isle of Dogs. With 32 acres of open space, grazing animals and off-lead areas, it's exceptional for dogs — and completely free. Take the DLR to Mudchute station. Note: dogs must be kept on leads near the farm animals.
Island Gardens
Sitting at the southern tip of the Isle of Dogs, Island Gardens offers stunning views across the Thames to Greenwich and the Cutty Sark. A peaceful spot for a morning walk, with the foot tunnel to Greenwich providing a unique experience for adventurous dogs.
Millwall Park
Right in the heart of the Isle of Dogs, Millwall Park has a designated off-lead area and plenty of open grass. Popular with local dog owners and easy to combine with errands in the surrounding area.
Mile End Park
A little further afield but worth the trip — Mile End Park runs along the Regent's Canal with green spaces, an ecology park and a sports centre. Dogs are welcome throughout most of the park.
Dog-Friendly Cafes and Restaurants
Canary Wharf and Harbord Square have a growing number of hospitality venues that welcome dogs:
- Harbord Square itself has several outdoor terrace venues that welcome dogs, especially in the warmer months
- Many waterfront cafes along the dock welcome well-behaved dogs at outdoor tables
- The Grapes pub in Limehouse has one of the most atmospheric Thames-side terraces in East London and welcomes dogs
PAWSOME tip: After your dog's groom at our Harbord Square studio, they'll look and smell amazing — the perfect excuse for a smart outdoor brunch on the Canary Wharf waterfront.
Walking Routes
The Docklands Route: Start at PAWSOME's location in Harbord Square, walk north along the water to South Dock Marina, loop around Millwall Outer Dock and return via the waterfront path. Roughly 3km, mostly flat, spectacular views.
The Riverside Walk: Head south from Island Gardens through Mudchute to Cubitt Town. Peaceful, varied and suitable for dogs of all sizes.
Getting Your Dog Groom-Ready for the City
City walks mean city dirt. Paws pick up road grime, salt in winter and whatever else the pavement has to offer. Regular professional grooming keeps city dogs not just looking great but genuinely clean. See how often your breed needs grooming.
