Terms & Conditions

By booking services with Pawsome Pet Grooming & Spa, you (“the Client”) agree to the following terms and conditions regarding the care and grooming of your pet (“the Pet”).

1. Appointments & Cancellations

Appointments must be scheduled in advance.

  • Please arrive on time. Late arrivals (15+ minutes) may result in rescheduling and a fee.

We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. Cancellations with less notice will incur a 50% fee, and missed appointments (no-shows) will be charged the full cost. Thank you so much for understanding and respecting our time.

2. Pet Health & Safety

  • Owners must inform staff of any medical conditions, allergies, behavioural concerns, or recent injuries.

  • Pets must be up-to-date on core vaccinations.

  • If a pet is found to have fleas or ticks, a flea bath will be administered at the owner's expense.

  • Aggressive or uncontrollable behavior may result in refusal of service.

  • If your furry friend will become overly aggressive or stressed, we may need to stop the grooming session for their safety.

  • Additional charges may apply for handling difficult pets or those with extreme matting.

3. Emergency Care

  • In the event of a medical emergency, we will attempt to contact you immediately.

  • If we cannot reach you, we will seek veterinary care for your pet at your expense.

  • Pawsome Pet Grooming & Spa is not liable for outcomes related to pre-existing health conditions or unexpected medical incidents.

4. Grooming Risks

While we prioritize gentle handling, grooming involves sharp tools, dryers, and physical contact.

  • You acknowledge the minor risk of injury (e.g., small cuts, clipper irritation, or stress reactions).

  • Matted coats may require shaving; this may reveal hidden skin conditions or cause irritation, for which we are not liable.

We take the security of your information seriously. We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption, secure servers, and restricted access to personal information.

5. Pricing & Payment

  • Prices are based on breed, size, coat condition, and behavior.

  • Additional charges may apply for mat removal, de-shedding, flea treatment, or extended grooming time.

  • Full payment is due at the time of service. Accepted payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, American Express.

6. Photo & Social Media Policy

We may take photos of your pet for before/after records or social media marketing.

  • No identifying customer information will be shared.

  • You may opt out of this by informing us at registration.

7. Liability Disclaimer

Pawsome Pet Grooming & Spa and its staff are not responsible for injuries, illness, or death caused by age, pre-existing health conditions, or unexpected incidents during grooming.

You agree to hold harmless Pawsome Pet Grooming & Spa from any claims related to grooming services, unless due to proven negligence.

8. Client Agreement

By signing or submitting this registration form, you confirm that:

You are the legal owner or authorized caregiver of the pet

You have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions

You consent to the grooming services provided under the policies outlined above

Our services are not intended for individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Matting Policy

At Pawsome Pet Grooming & Spa, your pet’s comfort and safety are our top priorities. This Matting Policy outlines how we handle pets with matted or severely tangled coats.

1. Understanding Matting

Matting occurs when a pet’s fur becomes tightly tangled and knotted. Mats can cause:

Skin irritation or sores

Pain or discomfort when touched or moved

Restricted air circulation and mobility

Risk of infection or parasites beneath the mats

2. Our Grooming Approach

  • If your pet has mild matting, we will attempt gentle, limited dematting using specialized tools. However:

  • If mats are too severe, tight, or widespread, we may need to shave the coat to prevent unnecessary pain or injury.

  • We will always prioritize your pet’s well-being over appearance.

3. Possible Side Effects

Shaving matted fur may reveal hidden skin issues such as:

Sores, rashes, or bruises

Fleas, ticks, or other parasites

Uneven coat regrowth or bald patches

Shaving close to the skin increases the risk of nicks, irritation, or razor burn, especially in sensitive areas. While we use great care, you acknowledge these risks when authorizing the groom.

4. Owner Responsibility

By bringing your pet in for grooming, you acknowledge that:

You are responsible for maintaining your pet’s coat between visits (regular brushing and grooming).

  • Severe matting is a health issue, not a cosmetic problem.

  • Pawsome Pet Grooming & Spa is not liable for any effects caused by pre-existing matting, including necessary shave-downs or skin conditions that may be revealed.

5. Fees

Additional fees may apply for:

  • Dematting labor (charged by time or severity)

  • Required shaving due to matting

  • Extra handling time if the pet is stressed or reactive due to discomfort

  • For late pick up (more than 30 minutes late) daycare £20 fee will be applied.

We will always discuss options with you before proceeding, whenever possible.

6. Refunds

No Automatic Refunds

All grooming services are non-refundable once completed. Grooming results depend on many factors including coat condition, pet behavior, skin health, and maintenance at home.

Normal grooming stress responses (scratching, shaking, redness, fatigue)
